As a womxn, why do you think it is important to create?

It’s important to create because it is our voice, power and strength. I believe creating is an extension of ourselves and Creation. When we create, we speak.

What has been your proudest moment as an artist/creative?

My proudest moment as an artist is waking up to do what I love every day. I am beyond grateful that art is my life.

How do you define love?

Love is love.

Describe the space that you like to create in?

I love a space that is chill and organized (although my space is never organized). I have my water, tea, art materials and Netflix on in the background.

What do you like to listen to while you create?

I listen to whatever is playing on Netflix, my cats meowing and purring and my partner playing guitar.

How do you make time to create?

I just do it. Creating is a part of my life every day, so there is always time. My favourite time to create is late into the night.

How does your mental health affect your work?

I live with many challenges in mental health and to me, my creative process is healing. Having creativity as a source of strength helps me cope with my experiences.

What is your earliest memory of making art?

I remember creating comic books and designing clothing when I was a child. I also remember helping my grandpa create wooden bowls and a garden.

Do you have any words of advice for young womxn/artist/creators out there?

Honestly, just do you. Simple as that, do what you love.
