Art is a channel for expression.
I feel it’s important to create because it’s a way to have and develop my own voice. Whether I’m playing on a big stage with an incredible band in front of thousands of people, organizing my room/space, organizing my thoughts, or cooking dinner, I am creating. My thoughts create the person that I am, and my voice creates the person I am to others. Both are important for me.
My inspiration comes from knowing that I’m in a country where I’m able to live my life the way I want to live my life. I am a privileged human being, and because I know this is true, I try my best not to take a day for granted. I like to dream big and not think in limitation. One day I hope that all people can feel and live this way. Even all people in my very own country.
I find inspiration in inspiring others. I know there are little girls out there that look up to me, and I want them to look up to the best me. I want to live my life fair and with dignity so I can be a good leader for anyone who wants to follow. I want to inspire other women to not be afraid to live out their dreams, not be afraid to be different and individual, and not be afraid to GO FOR IT!”
My proudest moments are when I impress the people who believe in me. This includes myself.
Love is an energy. The most powerful of all.
My creative space can be anywhere. Usually it’s an organized space, but sometimes I’m writing or thinking or drumming out a beat while I’m on the go…on a plane, on a bus. I like to constantly be thinking about what is surrounding me. The people, the space, the pace. Why things are happening the way they happen? These are the types of thoughts that inspire me. Of course my most very creative moments are sitting in my drum throne, crashing my cymbals and cracking my snare!
I like to listen to my own thoughts. There’s a lot of sound in the world….and definitely in my profession, so my time to think and create usually starts with just me and my thoughts.
